Are we going to hell in a handbasket? (Figuratively not literally)?

I'm having trouble trouble digesting current events. We have a war that supposedly ended 6 or 7 years ago, yet soldiers are still dying in it. We have a large amounts of children under 10 committing crimes like ault, ual ault, robbery and even murder. We still have racism, bigotry and greed. There are people out there who could end world hunger with a fraction of their fortunes, yet don't, and to top it all off we have transuals angry at posh spice for getting her clothes from someone that they hate. I know that last one is the least of the worlds worries but it just seems the world is getting worse everywhere and it sucks. Is it simply the world has always been this bad and the modern media is just going nuts with this or are we really going down the road to hell?
